Felicia Grace Donahoo departed this world on July 16, 2012 at 6:58 am to the loving embrace of her Lord and a reunion with the love of her life, and husband of 69 years, Ervon G. Donahoo, who preceded her in everlasting life on April 9, 2011. Born on August 28, 1921 in Boston, Mass., as the oldest child of John and Caroline Tomasino, Felicia spent the final weeks of her life in the loving care and visitations of friends and family. She passed peacefully with family at her side. Married on December 10, 1942, Felicia and Don worked as a team in raising their four boys. It is said in Proverbs 27:17 that iron sharpens iron. While Don forged his sons into strong men, it was Felicia who polished them into good husbands and fathers. Together, they laid the foundation for many generations to come. For those 69 years, Felicia and Don shared a great adventure. Today, we rejoice as they are reunited to continue their great adventure in the everlasting presence of our Lord, Jesus. Felicia is survived by her four sons and their families. William (Vicki); John (Pamela); Stephen (Carolyn); and David (Buffy); 8 grandchildren, Sean, Dawn, John, Jr., Jessica, Stephen,Jr., Susan, Brandon and Jason; and 4 great-grandchildren, James, Tanner, Joshua, and Jane. She is also leaving behind her sisters, Grace Chavoustie and Anna Tomasino. She was preceded in death by her brother, John. A dedicated mother, Felicia proudly raised her family while her husband served in WWII and Korea. She entered the workforce, only after their youngest son had entered high school. She worked for 18 years with Dobbs House at Norfolk Regional Airport and retired in 1987. Her family says "farewell mother, Mom, Ma, Grandma, Grandmother, and E-Ma (great-grandmother)." You will be greatly missed by us all. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 18th from 6 to 8pm at Smith and Williams Funeral Home on Norview Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 19th, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. There will not be a graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Felicia's name to St. Pius X Catholic Church, of which she was a founding member and the second female Eucharistic minister.
