Description	:	Felix Rudolph Gundy, one of the oldest residents of Boone County, died at his home in Albion, Saturday, December 28th. Mr. Gundy was born in Waverly, Ohio, January 14, 1849. In early manhood he moved to Illinois where he lived until he moved to Nebraska. He came to Boone county in 1878 and settled on a homestead six miles west of the present site of Albion. Read More	Felix Rudolph Gundy, one of the oldest residents of Boone County, died at his home in Albion, Saturday, December 28th. Mr. Gundy was born in Waverly, Ohio, January 14, 1849. In early manhood he moved to Illinois where he lived until he moved to Nebraska. He came to Boone county in 1878 and settled on a homestead six miles west of the present site of Albion. At that time the nearest railroad and trading point was Columbus. The grain raised on the farms in those early days was hauled to the mill at Columbus and flour and meal returned to the farmers. The farmer making the trip was usually paid five cents per bushel for hauling the grain. Mr. Gundy like many other early settlers built his home of sod, the natural building material of the plains. He experienced many hardships during the early years with their severe winters, sometimes drought in the summer or grasshopper visitations made life a struggle. Today we have a well developed farming country in central Nebraska, the result of the untiring labor of Mr. Gundy and men like him. He was a lifelong Christian and joined the Congregational church in Albion by letter in 1917. His fine Christian character was reflected in many ways. He will be remembered as a good neighbor and a kind friend. He is survived by his wife, Martha, to whom he was married in 1908, three children by a former marriage, Mrs. Daisy Hulse and Rollie Gundy, of Albion, and Mrs. Hazel Samsel, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Besides these many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends mourn his passing. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church Monday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Jos. Knierim. Interment was made in Rose Hill. Those from away who attended the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Will Booth, of North Platte; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Coulter, of Broken Bow; Mrs. Emma Byrnes of Fremont and Mr. and Mrs. E.
