Description	:	Fenna was born to Derk Harm and Trientje (Niggendijker) Begeman. Fenna married Berend Jacobs Poppenga on Mar. 19, 1895. 6 children were born to this union; Reiner B., Tena, Dick H., Ella, Bouwienus and Annelyn. Fenna attained the age of 69 years, 3 months and 9 days. Again the angel of death has cast a gloom of sadness over another home in this community, taking from our midst, Mrs. Ben. J. Fenne Begeman was born in Blyham, Providence of Groningen, The Netherlands, on April 16, 1874, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Derk Begeman. There she grew to young womanhood, and in 1893, in company with her brother, Harm Begeman, came to America and to Lincoln county, locating on a farm south of Lennox. On March 18, 1895 she was united in marriage to Ben J. Poppenga, and the couple went to housekeeping on his farm six miles southwest of Lennox. There she lived for 48 years. To this union six children were born, all of whom survive. They are: Reiner, Rena, Dick, Mrs. Folkert (Ella) Smit, Bouwienus and Mrs. Annelyn Oltmanns, all residing in this community. She was preceded in death by husband, who passed away on Dec. 7, 1938. Her parents and three brothers also preceded her in death. Deceased is survived by her six children; two brothers, Harm Begeman of Pettibone, ND and Bouwienus of Marvin, SD; two sisters Mrs. Geo. Poppenga, Lennox and Mrs. Curtis Tibbels of Chester, IA, and eleven grandchildren.
