Mr. Patton was born July 20, 1924, in Mancelona, the son of York C. and Ruth A. (Alexander) Patton. He was a veteran of World War U serving with the U.S. Army. Mr. Patton retired after 37 years with the former Gulf and Western Corp., now known as Dura Mechanical Components, where he was the head of maintenance. On Oct. 23, 1943, in Mancelona, he married Marie E. Montgomery and she survives. His hobbies included riding motorcycles and fishing. Mr. Patton is survived by his wife, Marie; two sons, Jerry Patton and his wife Cheri of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Larry Patton and his wife Sheran of East Jordan; six grandchildren, Scott Patton and his wife LaCinda of Boyne Falls, Dustin Patton of Boyne City, James Patton and his wife Amy, and Brandon Patton, all of Grand Rapids, and Jason Patton and Jodi Patton, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, York Patton Jr. and his wife Chris of Mancelona, and William Patton and his wife Marge of Sarasota, Fla.; five sisters, Margaret Still and her husband James, and Geraldine Jones, all of Mancelona, Maxine Pebley and her husband Lynn of Madison Heights, Shirley Bedard and her husband John of Traverse City, and Helen Seaman and her husband George of Peoria, 111.
