Description	:	Our Beloved Mother, Fern Odette Harrison, 89, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her daughters on Sunday, February 8, 2009. Fern was born August 9, 1919 in Dahlen, North Dakota to the parents of Isadore and Freida (Kelley) Fontaine. Fern was raised on the family farm, and went to school in Dahlen, and was baptized and confirmed there. She was the second oldest in the family so she helped with her many brothers and sisters, to whom she loved all dearly. Read More	Our Beloved Mother, Fern Odette Harrison, 89, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her daughters on Sunday, February 8, 2009. Fern was born August 9, 1919 in Dahlen, North Dakota to the parents of Isadore and Freida (Kelley) Fontaine. Fern was raised on the family farm, and went to school in Dahlen, and was baptized and confirmed there. She was the second oldest in the family so she helped with her many brothers and sisters, to whom she loved all dearly. On September 30,1949, she married Clarence Harrison in Grand Forks, North Dakota where they raised four daughters. He preceded her in death on July 18,1976. Fern worked for 40 years at Valley Dairy, retiring at the age of 79, making many friends along the way. Fern loved to crochet her afghans, to which she has made many throughout the years for all of her family, which will be treasured for years to come. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. She could hardly wait for opening season to start, and then would talk to her brothers and sisters on how the game went. She spent many a good times with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, helping take care of them, whom all meant the world to her, and will greatly miss her . She is survived by her daughtes, Judy (Harold) Haynes, Redmond, Oregon. Carol (Richard) Slominski, Kathy Snobl, Peggy Slominski , all of Grand Forks; Grandchildren, Melody Brockway, Guy, Karrie Pettit, JoDee Richeson, Stacey, Kristi, Rick Slominski, Shannon Thomas, Kirsten, Lindsay Slominski, Angela Munter, Jeremy, Megan, Kyle, Janine, and Brianna Snobl, 21 Great Grandchildren,1 great-great grandchild; Siblings, Frances Ackerman, Hazel (Donald) Gunderson, Mavis (Owen) Woodard, Bonnie Roche, JoAnn Davis, Hope (Dwaine) Lembke, Nancy (Allan) Slominski, Douglas (Terry), Stanley, Glenn (Marie), all of Grand Forks, Keith (Sandra) of Red Lake Falls, Mn; Sister- law, Irene Fontaine; 53 nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Florence and Gloria, and brothers Delmore and Isadore Jr. and an infant brother, Sons-in-law Raymond Slominski and Dave Snobl.
