She was born on June 17, 1930, in Butler County, Iowa, to William and Elsie (Bochman) Wiebke. Fern attended country school in West Point Township, graduated from high school in Allison and attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She was born on June 17, 1930, in Butler County, Iowa, to William and Elsie (Bochman) Wiebke. Fern attended country school in West Point Township, graduated from high school in Allison and attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught country school and was the executive secretary for the president of Wisconsin Light and Power. Fern was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Allison. She loved listening to music and enjoyed singing, shopping, cooking, watching cardinals and other birds and growing flowers, especially roses. Fern is survived by her sister-in-law Sena Wiebke of Allison, nieces and nephews Larry and wife Evelyn Wiebke of Van Horne, Carol and husband Dennis Henning of Allison, Keith and wife Cindy Wiebke of Allison and Joan Webb, several great-nieces and nephews, great great-nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Elsie, brother Orville and wife Edna, brother Gale and longtime friend Shirley McCurdy. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015, at St. James Lutheran Church in Allison, with Rev. Jeffrey A. Blank officiating. There will be no visitation held. Burial will take place in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery - Vilmar, rural Greene, Iowa. The Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home of Allison is handling the arrangements.
