Isom, age 99, was born on a farm near Wakefield, Nebraska on November 14, 1911 to Francis and Gertrude Kimbell. She married Dale Isom in Dakota City, Nebraska on March 26, 1932 and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage until Dale passed away on January 17, 1990. Fern and Dale lived most of their married life in Tekamah, Nebraska, beginning in 1944 where Dale managed a grain elevator until he retired in 1980. Fern relocated to Reno, NV in 1997 to live closer to family, and then moved again to southern CA in 2008 where she resided at Chancellor Place until her death. Survivors include her daughter Patsy Jenkins of Newhall, CA; daughter Pamela and son-in-law David Warfe of Murrieta, CA; grandson Thomas Jenkins of Alameda, CA; granddaughter Sandra Fernandez of Newhall, CA; grandson Daniel Warfe of Temecula, CA; granddaughter Debra Boone of Murrieta, CA; 10 great-grandchildren; and 6 remaining siblings: Faith Ruddell and Alice Holcomb of Riverside, CA; Virgil Kimbell of Hemet, CA; Dale Kimbell of Alamo, CA; and Velma Luhr and Earl Kimbell of Sioux City, IA. Fern was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers (Berton, Merle and Howard Kimbell), and one sister, Grace Longe.
