Description	:	Son of Oscar & Sarah Clark Fern R. Anthes, 89, of Cottage Grove Place died there on Monday April 16, 2012 after a long illness. Services at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday. Survivors include two daughters, Laura (Neal) Dudek of Marion and Janet (Rick) Evans of Springville; a brother Oscar (Lucia) of Cedar Rapids and a sister Faye Port of Arizona. He was preceded in death by a daughter Marjorie Nelson and a son James. Fern was born on November 6, 1922 in Audubon, the son of Oscar and Sarah Clark Anthes. He married Bernice C. Clapp on April 23, 1942 in Marion. Bernice died in 2009. Fern farmed near Springville for over 50 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Viola United Methodist Church. Fern enjoyed woodworking, gardening, raising flowers and especially the time spent with his beloved family and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him
