She was born July 8, 1920, in Norman to Harry and Petra (Petersen) Youngson. In 1944 she married Harold Madden. He died in 1973. Survivors include her stepson, Fred Madden of Florida; and nieces, Marcia Shannon and her husband, Wes, of Norman and Patricia Youngson of Boulder, Colo. Read More	Fern Madden, 89, of Minden died Friday, May 21, 2010, at Kearney County Health Services Hospital in Minden. Private family graveside services were held at Minden Cemetery. She was born July 8, 1920, in Norman to Harry and Petra (Petersen) Youngson. In 1944 she married Harold Madden. He died in 1973. Survivors include her stepson, Fred Madden of Florida; and nieces, Marcia Shannon and her husband, Wes, of Norman and Patricia Youngson of Boulder, Colo. She grew up in the Norman-Minden area and graduated from Minden High School. She taught in a rural school after graduation, then moved to California and attended business college. She and Harold both worked for Boeing Aircraft and made their home in Southern California. Fern and Harold enjoyed traveling. They traveled to England and throughout Europe. Fern later moved to Sun City, Ariz., and to Minden in 2006 because of health problems. Fern was a very private person who was well-educated. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing.
