Grant of 94 Drammen Drive, Fredericton, widow of the late Gordon Charles Grant occurred at York Manor on May 30, 1999. She was 86. Born in Magaguadavic, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Bertha (Grieve) MacMullin. Ferne and Gordon lived in Caverhill until moving to Oshawa, Ontario in 1953 where she worked for F.W. Woolworth store for many years until her retirement. She returned to Fredericton in 1989 to make her home at 94 Drammen Drive. Her sister Blanche moved in with Ferne to make her home in 1994. Ferne was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Nashwaaksis. She is survived by a daughter Mary Currie and husband Barry, Fredericton; a son, Michael Grant, Oakville, Ontario; a sister, Blanche Rae, presently of Winnipeg, Manitoba; three brothers, Neil MacMullin (Helen), Fredericton, Medley MacMullin (Ruth) Woodstock and Rolland MacMullin (Irene), Magaguadavic; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Ferne was predeceased by a brother, Milton MacMullin and a chosen brother Albert Shaw. Resting at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station with visiting hours Monday 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at All Saint's Anglican Church, Magaguadavic. Rev. William MacMullin officiating. Interment will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Magaguadavic. Pallbearers will be nephews, Gary, George, David, Fred, Calvin and Roy MacMullin. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Ferne, the family has suggested the Alzheimer Society or a charity of donors choice.
