Description	:	Flaude "Dale" Anglin, age 76, of the Jacks Creek Community, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her sons and pastor, Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Mission Hospital. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Elsie Pyatt Dale. Read More	Flaude "Dale" Anglin, age 76, of the Jacks Creek Community, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her sons and pastor, Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Mission Hospital. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Elsie Pyatt Dale. She was raised on Plum Branch in the Windom Community, attended Micaville Elementary and High School and followed her sister Myra into the Lees-McRae School of Nursing in Banner Elk. She began her career in nursing in the office of the late Melvin W. Webb and would later move on to Burnsville Hospital, manage Sun Valley Rest Home and finally retire from Spruce Pine Community Hospital. After retirement, she continued her work in nursing by attending and supporting many family members across the state and her neighbors in the Upper Jacks Creek Community. She was a member of the Upper Jacks Creek Presbyterian Church since her marriage to Clyde in 1957. They built their house on Sheriff Anglin Road in 1960 and have lived there since. Dale was feisty, independent and smart. She was tough on herself and those within reach or earshot. She didn't like things that were easy and did her best with the wind in her face, not at her back. She could throw a baseball, softball or a hard green apple with great speed and wicked accuracy. She was known by many names: Flaude, Dale, Pod, Sis, Aunt Pod, Granny, Momma and Mother. She was compassionate and kind to those who were ill or disabled and brought comfort to those who were suffering. Surviving is her husband of 52 years, Clyde H. Anglin; two sons: Suel and John, both of Asheville; two step-daughters: Brenda A. McIntosh and husband, Bill, of Charlotte and Barbara Anglin-Salmond and husband, Ron, of St. Helen, MI; a sister, Myra Creech and husband, Leo, of Burlington; a brother, Rufus Dale of Burlington; two sisters-in-law: Orlena Anglin of Burnsville and Marie Dale of Old Fort; three step-grandchildren: Teresa Orr and husband, Tom, Angie Hewitt and Christopher Anglin; four step-great grandchildren: Emory Orr, Carson Orr, Ashlee Hewitt and Christopher Anglin, Jr.; many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Funeral Services will be 7:30 p. m. Monday, April 5th, 2010 in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services with the Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be 11:00 a. m. Tuesday in the Anglin-Evans Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of floral memorials, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels of Yancey or the Anglin-Evans maintenance fund in care of Clyde Anglin, 314 Westover Dr, Asheville, NC 28801. Clyde and his children would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to some very special friends, neighbors and family: Sam and Carol Boggess, Jim and Katie Evans, Orlena Anglin, Donald and Linda Anglin, Sharon Boyer, Vernell Evans, Tommy Buchanan, Jean Laws, Chris and Jill Evans, Willoree Risley Shirley Bailey, the Pastors, staff and members of Asheville First Presbyterian Church, the Pastor and members of Jacks Creek Presbyterian Church, the staff of Randolph Learning Center in Asheville, Kathy Milner and the employees of American Quality Foods in Mills River, members of the Yancey County EMS and first response teams, the staff of the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit of Mission Hospitals. Their commitment, professionalism and compassion made a painful ordeal less and demonstrated why my mother was so dedicated to their shared calling. On behalf of my family, Suel Clyde Anglin.
