Read More	Beatrice daughter of Nelson and Jennie Ellis. "How many hopes lye buried here" May 25, 1900 - The Newell Mirror - Flora Beatrice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.W. Ellis, of Laurens, died at the home of her parents Monday, May 21, 1900, aged 17 years, 8 months, and 8 days. The deceased was born in Newell, in the house now occupied by J.C. Brown and family, and lived here until 1884, when her parents moved to Laurens. She had been under the physician's care a year and a half. Her disease was consumption. While it was felt that nothing could cure the disease or restore her to health, her life was prolonged by the excellent and untiring care she received, and by taking a great deal of out door exercise. She was a member of the Christian church, and died in possession of the blessed hope of eternal life. She was a most loving and obedient daughter, and was most highly esteemed by her friends and acquaintances in Laurens. We join with the friends of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis in Newell and vicinity in extending sincere sympathy in this sad bereavement. Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Laurens May 22, 1900, conducted by the pastor, Rev Major, after which the remains was brought to Newell cemetery for interment. The bereaved parents wish us to extend their sincere thanks to the friends in Newell for their assistance and to Rev. W.B. Pinkerton for his services at the cemetery.
