Description	:	Flora was the dau of Christopher & Catherine (Lockhart) Hussey, wife of Wm H Burr, and mother of 9 children. Flora's lineage in America goes back to Christopher Hussey, b 1599 in Dorking, Surrey, England, son of John & Marie (Wood) Hussey. Christopher, along with his new bride Theodate Bachiler/Batchelder, dau of Rev Stephen, and his widowed mother, arrived in the colonies with Winthrop's fleet in June 1632 onboard the ship "William & Francis", a voyage of 88 days. Read More	Flora was the dau of Christopher & Catherine (Lockhart) Hussey, wife of Wm H Burr, and mother of 9 children. Flora's lineage in America goes back to Christopher Hussey, b 1599 in Dorking, Surrey, England, son of John & Marie (Wood) Hussey. Christopher, along with his new bride Theodate Bachiler/Batchelder, dau of Rev Stephen, and his widowed mother, arrived in the colonies with Winthrop's fleet in June 1632 onboard the ship "William & Francis", a voyage of 88 days. Christopher & his father in law founded the town of Hampton in July 1639. In May 1660, his name is found on a deed for the purchase of Nantucket. He was Captain of the Hampton Militia in 1672 and is found in the "Society of Colonial Wars". He was a member of Council in 1680, appointed as Councillor of Hampton in 1670 when NH became a separate government. His will was written in Feb 1684 & proved in 1686. His son John inherited land in Nantucket but lived in the southern part of Hampton, now known as Seabrook. John fought in King Philip's War. Between 1688 & 1692, John, his wife Rebecca (Perkins), his mother in law & many of their children, migrated to New Castle Co, PA (now Del) and became members of the Society of Friends (Quaker faith) which was continued by several generations of the family. The survey of 1703 shows that he owned section 817 on Christina Creek, which is now a part of Wilmington Int'l Airport.
