Description	:	Wife of John Lewis. Daughter of Donald Drummond & Catherine Beaton. From the book "Families Buried in Salem Cemetery, Elderslie Township 1857 - 1979" by Mary I. MacKay, p.63-67: In 1870 John married Flora Drummond, the youngest of seven children born to James Drummond and Catherine Beaton of Adjala Township. In 1876, John and Flora moved to Elderslie Township with two small boys, and bought lot 7, concession 10 from William Rusk. They paid $4500 for 100 acres with seventy acres cleared. In 1876, John and Flora moved to Elderslie Township with two small boys, and bought lot 7, concession 10 from William Rusk. They paid $4500 for 100 acres with seventy acres cleared. There was a small frame house and barn and an orchard started. [After John died in 1888], Flora, left with seven children, aged 3 to 18, continued to farm with the help of her sons. On the day her oldest son James was buried, she took a severe stroke which left her completely paralyzed. She was cared for at home by her daughters and sons until she died three years later and was buried beside her husband in Salem Cemetery. Flora Drummond Lewis died December 15, 1932. John and Flora had seven children: 1. James Alexander Lewis, 1872-1929, married Mary Miller Park 2. William Lewis, 1873-1956, never married 3.
