Description	:	Flora Marie Thompson, the daughter of William Reed (sic) and Martha Marie Salisbury, was born on Sept. 20, 1904 in Republic Co., Kansas. She died on June 27, 1977 in the Republic Co. Hospital at Belleville, Ks. at the age of 72 years, nine months and seven days. Flora attended Republic County rural schools and graduated from Belleville, Ks. High School. She taught in rural schools in the Cuba, Ks. area. Flora was married to Fredrick E. Thompson on Nov. 19, 1925. Hospital at Belleville, Ks. at the age of 72 years, nine months and seven days. Flora attended Republic County rural schools and graduated from Belleville, Ks. High School. She taught in rural schools in the Cuba, Ks. area. Flora was married to Fredrick E. Thompson on Nov. 19, 1925. To this union four children were born: three sons, Blaine, William and Jean; and one daughter, Lois. Flora was a lifetime member of this community. She was a member of the Chester United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge No. 76, Eastern Star Chapter No. 289, Excelsior H.D.U., and United Methodist Women. Flora was preceded in death by her parents, William R. and Martha M. Salisbury, and by a brother, William J. Salisbury. She is survived by her husband, Fred E. Thompson; three sons, Blaine, William, and Jean; one daughter, Lois Bauer; ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Services were held at the Chester United Methodist Church on June 29 at 10:00 a.m., and were conducted by Revs. Douglas Ferguson, Norman and Opal Crounse. Music was by Mrs. Maurice Mitchell and Mrs. Jack Long, organist was Mrs. Dolan Frye. Casket bearers were Richard George, Donald Duey, Joel Navis, Everett Roop, Mark Eickman and David Gallion. Interment was in the Chester Cemetery. Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
