"Peggy" Shaw, 72, of Wenatchee, passed away Friday, Feb. 18, 2000 at Central Washington Hospital following a brief illness. She was born Nov. 14, 1927 to Samuel and Mabel Irene (Shriver) Hilliard at Keokuk, IA. As a young child, she moved with her family to Wenatchee where she was raised and educated. Following her education, she worked for various local packing sheds. On May 25, 1957, she married James Shaw at Coeur d'Alene, ID. They made their home in Wenatchee where she spent 17 years working at Central Washington Hospital as a housekeeper, retiring in 1989. With her husband, she would travel to watch her sons and grandchildren play softball. She was a longtime member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed walking and shopping. Survivors include her husband, Jim of Wenatchee; her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Dixie Shaw of Wenatchee; her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Greg Bruggman of Wenatchee; two sisters-in-law, Peggy and Irene Hilliard, both of East Wenatchee; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bill and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at Telford's Chapel of the Valley Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Don Hussong officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Central Washington Hospital, Oncology Department. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
