Description	:	Flora Henkle was born in Davis county, May 15, 1853, and died Feb. 20, 1914, at the age of 60 years, nine months and five days.. She lived on a farm with her parents in Union township, and received her education at the Dutch fiat school house. At the age of 23 years she was united in marriage to W. I. Henkle. They continued their residence near her old home the balance of her life, with the exception of about six months, during which time they made their home in southern Missouri. To them three children were born, but two... Read More	Flora Henkle was born in Davis county, May 15, 1853, and died Feb. 20, 1914, at the age of 60 years, nine months and five days.. She lived on a farm with her parents in Union township, and received her education at the Dutch fiat school house. At the age of 23 years she was united in marriage to W. I. Henkle. They continued their residence near her old home the balance of her life, with the exception of about six months, during which time they made their home in southern Missouri. To them three children were born, but two were taken in their infancy, and only one son, wiarion, survives. Beside Marion and her husband, she leaves two grandchildren, Florence and Dwight, and their mother, to mourn her departure. She also leaves two brothers, James Rouch of Bloomfield, Charles Rouch of Madero, Cal., three sisters, Elizabeth Warrington of Bloomfield, Emma Hamilton of Sanger, Cal., and Lucy Zentz of York, Neb. Mrs. Henkle joined the Christian church in her young days at Mt. Gilead under the influence of Moses Downing and lived a consistent Christian ever since. In her last days she was severely afflicted with rheumatism, but she bore up under all and trusted in her Saviour for help. She often expressed her desire of attending church, but in her affliction she could not. She held malice toward none, and she leaves a host of friends, relatives and neighbors to mourn her loss, all of whom will miss her cheerful face and her words of encouragement. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. William Heger at her home near White Elm Saturday, Feb. 21, at 10 o'clock. Interment was made in the Rouch cemetery (From the Ottumwa Courier Feb. 26, 1914)
