Description	:	Funeral services for Flora Evans, age 92 of Hettinger, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Hettinger with Pastor Darrell Abbey, officiating. Following the funeral service a time of fellowship with a luncheon will he held in the church fellowship hall before traveling to Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon for the burial. FLORA VIOLET BRAUGHT was born December 23, 1915 at Mitchell, SD to Donald and Esther (Richards) Braught. The Braught family moved to a farm southwest of Lemmon. Flora attended rural country schools near her home and high school in Lemmon. She did domestic work for area farmers and ranchers. Flora was united in marriage to Clarence "Vern" Evans on October 11, 1935 at Lemmon, SD. They began their life together on a ranch north of Haynes, ND where they worked in a dairy operation. They moved to a farm east of Thunder Hawk and in July of 1936, they moved to Arlington, OR where her husband worked for the railroad. They were transferred to The Dalles, OR in 1942. In 1945, Flora and Vern moved to farm in Adams County, ND after the passing of his father. They continued to farm and ranch until selling the place to their son, Clifford in 1971. Flora and Vern continued living on the place until moving into Hettinger in October of 1997. Vern passed away on April 20, 1998. Flora continued living in the Village Apartments and in February of 2005, she entered the care center. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting, crocheting, and reading magazines. Flora passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Western Horizon's Care Center in Hettinger. Surviving family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Violet and George Kostelecky, Lemmon, SD; son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Geraldine Evans, Lemmon, SD; 10 grandchildren, Pamela (Dick) Bloedel, Ogden, UT; Victoria (Dave) Sonn, Lemmon, SD; Rick Kostelecky, Sturgis, SD; Georgina (John) Shankle, Corona, CA; Angela (Steve) Hintz, Rapid City, SD; Melissa (David) Eich, Bridgewater, SD; Donald Evans, Lemmon, SD; Leo and Clyde Evans, Bismarck, ND; Lynn Evans, Bowman, ND; 9 great grandchildren, Chad (Lisa) Odell, Clear Lake, SD; Lance (Kelli) Bloedel, Rock Springs, WY; Juree (Brandon) Wickersham San Diego, CA; Josh Sonn, Bismarck, ND; Kiley Sonn, Lemmon, SD; Frank (Linda) Foster, New Underwood, SD; Forrest (Susan) Foster, Rapid City, SD; Jessica Eich, and Austin Eich, both of Bridgewater, SD; 3 great great grandchildren, James and Thadeus Odell, and Kale Bloedel. Flora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 grandson, David Evans, 2 brothers, Franklin and Kenneth Braught; and 1 sister, Marie Johnson. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 27, from 1:00 to 9:00pm at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon; on Sunday, September 28, from 1:00 to 9:00 pm at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger; and on Monday one hour prior to services at the United Methodist Church in Hettinger.
