Description	:	The funeral for Mrs. Roy (Florence) Van Berkom, age 53, was held Friday, Dec. 26 at 2p.m. in Bethel Baptist Church, Powers Lake with Rev. Joe Wallace and Rev. Glen Nichola officiating. Mrs. Van Berkom died Tuesday, Dec. 23 at Tioga. During the service Jeri Lynn Hegstad served as organist and accompanied JoAnn Jorgenson who sang “Through It All” and “Amazing Grace”. Pallbearers were Orvin Enget, Avery Enget, Clifford Enget. Obert Enget, Lloyd Enget and Norman Trondson. Interment will be in the church cemetery in the spring. Born Florence Enget on April 8, 1922 at Powers Lake to Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Enget, she attended schools there, graduating from high school in 1940. Mrs. Van Berkom was very active in her church, being a leader of the Juniors, teaching Sunday School and serving as organist and pianist for 41 years. She enjoyed playing for the Prairie Lighthouse Hour and the Baptist telecast from the Minot station. She served on the Board of Christian Education for the American Baptist Convention in North Dakota and worked with the young people at Camp Bentley. She was president of the Powers Lake Civic Club and for several years worked with community betterment projects. Florence married Roy Van Berkom on Aug. 4, 1967 at Fargo and they have made their home in Powers Lake area since their marriage. Survivors include her husband, a step-son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Van Berkom of Bismarck; 3 nieces, Mrs. Anon (Faye) Nelson of Parshall, Mrs. Don (Iva) Hysjulien and Mrs. Celeste Pederson, both of Stanley; 3 aunts, 47 cousins and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Enget in 1951, a sister, Mrs. Milton (Orfie) Albertson in 1967 and her mother in 1969. From the Kenmare News.
