Description	:	Florence Alfa Quellhorst, daughter of James Perry Rouse and Jennie Linch, was born at Greenwood, Nebraska, on March 14, 1887. She died on March 3, 1986, at Paolo, Kansas, at the age of 98. Florence joined the Methodist Church at an early age. She attended schools in Nebraska, including Wesleyan College, and taught school for two years. She was married to Orville D. Quellhorst in 1908. Florence joined the Methodist Church at an early age. She attended schools in Nebraska, including Wesleyan College, and taught school for two years. She was married to Orville D. Quellhorst in 1908. They lived in the Alvo-Elmwood area all of their lives, except for 12 years when she lived in Kansas. Five children were born to the Quellhorsts, Ronald of Paola, Kans., Audrey Schweer of Independence, Mo., Orville DeLoss, who died in infancy, Bryce of Tacoma, Wash., and Pearl Kelly of Lincoln. Alfa's husband preceded her in death in 1947. Two sisters, Myrtle Nickel and Orpha Bobbitt, also preceded her. Survivors include four children; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Aletha Uhley of El Monte, Calif. a sister-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Colbert Funeral Home Chapel, Elmwood, on Thur., March 6. The Rev. Robert Miller officiated. Interment was at the Alvo Cemetery.
