Description	:	Sept 20, 2006 - Carroll Daily Times - Florence "Flossie" Hoogestraat Sifford Beisch, 78, of Santa Ana died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, at her home. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with the Rev. Michael Fitzsimmons officiating. Organist will be Sally Patten. Casket bearers will be Jim Liechti, Tom Hoogestraat, David Hoogestraat, Dennis Vetter, Greg Hoogestraat, Steve Hoogestraat, Keith Vetter, Calvin Hoogestraat, Mark Hoogestraat and Gary Hoogestraat. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with the Rev. Michael Fitzsimmons officiating. Organist will be Sally Patten. Casket bearers will be Jim Liechti, Tom Hoogestraat, David Hoogestraat, Dennis Vetter, Greg Hoogestraat, Steve Hoogestraat, Keith Vetter, Calvin Hoogestraat, Mark Hoogestraat and Gary Hoogestraat. Burial will be in Carroll Cemetery. Visitation starts at 5 p.m. and a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. A daughter of John F. and Clara (Liechti) Hoogestraat, she was born Feb. 16, 1928, at Blencoe and was baptized at the Presbyterian church in Carroll. She attended school at Blencoe and Arcadia and graduated from Arcadia Public School in 1945. She and Lou Sifford were married in 1952 at Carroll. He died in 1960. She and Fred Beisch were married in 1971 at Des Moines. He died in 1981. Mrs. Beisch was an operator for the telephone company in Carroll. She moved to Santa Ana and was a supervisor for Pacific Bell Telephone Co. and a union steward for CWA Local 9510. She retired in 1982 after 35 years with the phone company. Mrs. Beisch continued to be active in the Telephone Pioneers. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and playing cards. Survivors include a sister, Anna Marie Liechti, of Carroll; two sisters-in-law: Iola Hoogestraat of Carroll and Maxine Rolfes of Hawarden; three stepdaughters: Bonnie Adams of California, Dorothy Ocken of Des Moines and Kathy Adams and her special friend, Ernest Araujo, of Santa Ana; and 21 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands; three sisters: Helena Petersen, Evelyn Holck and Marcella Vetter; and three brothers: William Hoogestraat, John Hoogestraat and Fred Hoogestraat.
