Description	:	"Florence Pavliska died peacefully at Palm Springs Healthcare on Feb 13, 2006. She was born in Odessa, WA in March, 1916 to Sybil and C C Dobson. She graduated from Reardan and Odessa High Schools. She attended Kinman Business School and worked for the US Dept. of Agriculture in Portland. At an alumni banquet in Odessa, Florence became reacquainted with Louis Pavliska whom she married in October of 1962. She graduated from Reardan and Odessa High Schools. She attended Kinman Business School and worked for the US Dept. of Agriculture in Portland. At an alumni banquet in Odessa, Florence became reacquainted with Louis Pavliska whom she married in October of 1962. Florence is survived by her daughter, Ann of Palm Springs; and her husband Louis of Spokane, WA. She is also survived by Louis's son and daughter-in-law, Gale and Graycen; her sister, Claudine West of Moses Lake, WA; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, Leon Dobson of Spokane. Florence and Louis were very active in their community as members of the Grange, St Joseph's Catholic Church, and the Historical Society. Florence was particularly proud of her work with HOST, a program providing one-on-one tutoring for students who have reading difficulties. She traveled extensively with both Louis and Ann, making several trips to Europe and many US destinations such as Hawaii, the Oregon Coast, Seattle and the Grand Canyon. Florence loved to read, cook, sew and work in her wonderful vegetable garden. She also enjoyed many hours with her cat, Winkers. In 1999, Florence was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and came to live in Palm Springs to be cared for by her daughter, Ann. She missed Odessa and her lifetime friends, but she always greeted new people with a smile and a twinkle in her eye. Ann is most thankful that she had this time with her mother to be a friend as well as a daughter. She would like to thank the many people who kept Florence in their hearts and prayers. Ann is bringing her mother back to Odessa and her friends and family that she loved so much, just as she promised. May she rest in peace, forever, next to Crab Creek, her home. Rosary Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb 17, 2006 at St Joseph Catholic Church in Odessa, WA. Funeral Mass will be held after the Rosary at 11 a.m. also at St Joseph Catholic Church, Father Floch will officiate. Concluding services and Vault interment to follow at Odessa Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home, Davenport, WA, is in charge of arrangements."
