Description	:	Florence Jeanne Bull passed away in Ellensburg at home with family on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the age of 89. She was born in Renton, Washington on February 23, 1920, the first of three daughters born to Italian immigrants Eugene and Lena (Condotti) Galiano. Read More	Florence Jeanne Bull passed away in Ellensburg at home with family on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the age of 89. She was born in Renton, Washington on February 23, 1920, the first of three daughters born to Italian immigrants Eugene and Lena (Condotti) Galiano. Florence grew up in the Renton valley during the Depression, providing her with important lessons that served her well throughout her life. She graduated from Renton High School, and then attended Central Washington College of Education in Ellensburg, where she met Walt Bull. Florence graduated from Central with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education in 1941. She married Walt following World War II. In 1946 they made their home in Ellensburg and began raising a family. They had four children. In 1956, Florence began her teaching career at Washington Elementary School in Ellensburg as a kindergarten teacher. Over the next 25 years of helping young people begin their school years, she made many life-long friends. Upon retirement in 1981, Florence became more active spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, golfing, and traveling with her husband and children. A particularly enjoyable trip for Florence was with her son, Tom. He accompanied her to Italy, visiting her father's hometown. Florence was a loving and nurturing wife, mother and grandmother whose greatest pleasure was seeing to it that those around her were happy. She always encouraged others to be active and optimistic. Her constant energy, support, and kindness were special traits she possessed and shared unselfishly. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 65 years, her younger sister Diana Shuman, daughter Phyllis Ragsdale, and granddaughter Richelle Bull. She is survived by her sister Phyllis (Vern) Stenson, children Tom (Jonelle) Bull, Cathy (Ken) Hash, and Curtis (Luci) Bull. Her grandchildren Sara (Fred) Leist, Jody (Ryan) Backlund, Sarah Heaverlo, Phyllis Heaverlo, Renee Bull, Reece Bull, and great-grandchildren Grayson Backlund, and Avery Leist. In lieu of flowers those wishing to make a donation in her honor are encouraged to support Hospice Friends of Kittitas County. In keeping with Florence's wishes, no services will be held. There will be a celebration of Florence and Walt's lives in the near future. Published in Daily Record from June 5 to June 11, 2009
