The daughter of [Roy and Elva Lowry Peterson - [this is incorrect. Her parents were Philip and Mary Rabenau], she was born July 28, 1909, in Chicago, Ill. She married Verl D. Johnson on Dec. 24, 1928, and moved to Colorado in 1953. She married Willard Ferguson Dec. 29, 1974, moved to California in 1975, and then returned to Newton in 1980. Mrs. Ferguson worked in the office at Newton Manufacturing and retired from The Boulder Valley School District in 1974. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newton. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Cecilia and Norman Ringgenberg of Baxter and Helen and Clarence Davidson of Newton; one son and daughter-in-law, Jesse (Dick) and Edith Johnson of Ratcliff, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, an infant daughter, one brother and one grandson. ~ The Newton Daily News, November 24, 2000
