Lionel H. Haywood, 56, a Mathews County seafood dealer, died at his home at Motorun after a lingering illness. At almost the same moment, Mrs. Florence Godsey Collier, 53, of Gwynn, a nurse on duty caring for him in his home, collapsed and died. Until ill health forced his retirement last year, Mr. Haywood had been owner and operator of the L. H. Haywood Seafood Company at Bavon. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marion Robins Haywood of Motorun; a daughter, Mrs. Ann Haywood Weeks of Richmond; two sons, Horace L. Haywood and Herbert Hoover Haywood, both of Mathews; two sisters, Mrs. Herman French of Arlington and Mrs. Mae Forrest of Diggs; seven brothers, Earl Haywood, Rennie Haywood, Cecil Haywood, Bonnie Haywood and Buddy Haywood, all of Mathews County, John Haywood of Gloucester County and Robbie Haywood of Portsmouth; six grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the New Point Friends Church, conducted by the Rev. Claude W. Roberts, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Herbert Hall, pastor of the Bethel - St. Matthew Methodist Charge. Burial will be in the St. Paul's annex cemetery at Susan. Mrs. Collier is survived by her husband, Clarence W. Collier Sr., a son, Clarence W. Collier Jr., and a granddaughter, Miss Tenna Anne Collier, all of Gwynn; six sisters, Mrs. Willard Bensten, Mrs. Eldridge Rainier, Mrs. Maxwell Hudgins and Mrs. Charles Edwards, all of Gwynn, Mrs. Charles Ward of Grimstead and Mrs. William Mason of Bath, N.C.; three brothers, Garnett E. Godsey of Onemo, James W. Godsey of Hampton and John R. Godsey of Gwynn. She was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church. today at the Foster's Funeral Home at Mathews, conducted by the Rev. O. J. Rishel. Burial will be in the Gwynn's Island Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Eldridge Rainier, L. Sleet Godsey, Charles E. Edwards, Stewart Edwards, Harold Ison and Edgar Collier.
