Description	:	Mae was born September 20, 1916 in Brookborough, Ireland, the daughter of John and Flora (Howe) Doonan. She came to Ellis Island with her parents and sister, Jane in 1919. Mae married John Ferguson on August 24, 1935 in Galena, IL. He passed in 1981. She was employed by the Kresge’s Dime Store for several years and later at May’s Drug Store. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Mae was very proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed embroidering, gardening, cooking and most of all spending time with her family and grandchildren.... She was preceded in death by her husband John Ferguson; parents John and Flora Doonan; sisters Celia Hartz and Jane Nelson, brothers, John Lee and Clarence Doonan; sister-in-law Frances Doonan; brothers-in-law Clifford Mortland, Glen Hartz and Lloyd Nelson; and a nephew Allen Nelson.
