Description	:	Florence Frederes, 88, of Orange City formerly of Alton, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at Landsmeer Ridge Retirement Community in Orange City. Funeral services were held February 19 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. Msgr. Kenneth Seifried officiated. Burial was at St.Mary's Cemetery in, Alton under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen. Florence was born on November 21,1912, at rural Alton, the daughter of Otto and Anna (Konz) Probst. Read More	Florence Frederes, 88, of Orange City formerly of Alton, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at Landsmeer Ridge Retirement Community in Orange City. Burial was at St.Mary's Cemetery in, Alton under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen. Florence was born on November 21,1912, at rural Alton, the daughter of Otto and Anna (Konz) Probst. She was raised in the Alton area, attended rural school and graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Alton. Florence married Tony Frederes on May 21, 1935, at Alton. The couple lived in Alton until 1937, when they moved to the Adrian-Rushmore, Minnesota area and farmed there until 1945. They moved back to the Alton area where they farmed until retiring and moving into Alton in 1964. Tony died May 14,1987. Florence had been a resident of Landsmeer Ridge since June 21,2000. Mrs. Frederes was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Church Guild and St. Mary's Rosary Society. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Jerry and Sharon Frederes of Overland Park, Kansas and Virgil and Shirley Frederes of St. Joseph, Missouri; a daughter, Joyce and her husband Dean Calkins of Waynesville, Missouri; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Vincent (Bernice) Gergen of Alton and Mrs. Edwin (Betty) Reker of Lismore, Minnesota; two brothers and their wives, Kenneth and Dora Probst of Orange City and Milo and Tarsella Probst of Alton; a sister- in-law, Mrs. Donald (Marilyn) Probst of Des Moines; and two brothers-in-law, Milo Reker of Worthington, Minnesota and C.J. Wolf of Adrian, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mrs. Milo (Bernadine) Reker and Mrs. C.J. (Mercedes) Wolf; and three brothers, Clarence, Donald and Rodney Probst.
