Services will be held at 1 p.m. MST Wednesday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, New England, with the Revs. Janel Kolar and Donna Dohrmann officiating. Burial will be in Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. MST today at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson, and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Florence Mildred Gerbig was born Aug. 31, 1912, in Bowman, N.D., to George and Imogene (Hanson) Gerbig. She attended school in Billings County, Model High School in Dickinson and beauty college in Bismarck. After completing school she owned and operated a beauty salon in Belfield for several years. She married Lt. Norman W. Cross at A.A.F. Gunnery School Chapel in Las Vegas on Oct. 26, 1942. They lived in Nevada and Arizona while Norman was in the U.S. Army. They returned to North Dakota and moved to New England in 1946, when Norman became manager of the Slope Electric Co-op. Norman died April 15, 1980. Mildred was an active member of the First Congregational Church, New England, Senior Citizens, charter member of the Jolly Eight Homemakers Club, and 50-year member of the Cannonball Chapter O.E.S. Mildred was a resident of St. Benedict's for the past two and one half years. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Gary) Gussey, New England; two sons, Donald (Cindy) Cross, Mandan, and David (Bev) Cross, Bismarck; a sister, Mary Juntunen, Bowman; a brother, Morris (Ella) Gerbig, Amidon; a sister-in-law, Effie Gerbig, Belfield; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Shawn) Weishaar, Bill Gussey, Steven Gussey, Nicole Cross, Kyle Cross, Jennifer (Scott) Brahos and Sommer (Brian) Watson; four great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Lauren, Madison Weishaar and Macy Brahos; and five nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, John Gerbig; and a sister, Genevive Gerbig.
