I found her on the 1860 Census: John Plumber 28 (last name should be Plumlee) Charita Plumber 25 (Charlotte Jackson) Mildred P Plumber 5 (Mildred Florence) Peyton Plumber 2 John & Charlotte had 4 children before he died in 1863: Charlotte, Florence, Peyton, and Joel. After John died, Charlotte remarried his cousin (Isaac Plumlee) who already had 11 children. Isaac & Charlotte had 7 more. The combined total was 22 children. I imagine it was quite a zoo even though the olders would have helped with the youngers and some of them would marry and move away. Add in that the father was away quite a bit and it isn't any surprise that Florence's mother was mean and angry as a step-mother! Please let me know if you have any additional info! - - - Obit: Florence Plumnly Parker was born 4 Jul 1857. She was married about 47 years ago to John L. Parker. He was a railroad man and they moved from place to place, spending the greater part of their lives in TX, Indian Territory and Grant County, WA.  There were born to this union ten children, eight of whom survive. Mr. Parker passed away about 13 years ago.  She made her home for the last 10 years with 2 of her daughters, Mrs. Mamie Brookhouse of The Dalles, OR and Mrs. C.H. Brack of Goldendale, WA. At whose home she passed away on 7 Apr 1925 at the age of 67 yrs, 9 mo and 3 days.  She leaves to mourn her loss eight children, Mamie Brookhouse - The Dalles, OR, Pearl Jones - Rocky Comfort, MO, Dee Parker - Hartland, WA, Ida Wedgwood - Goldendale, WA, Josie Sellers - Winchester, WA, J.L. Parker - Newberg, OR, Floyd Parker - Tacoma, WA, Edith Brack - Goldendale, WA and 19 grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Thursday, from The Chapman Chapel. M.L. Sanders D.D. officiating followed by interment in the IOOF Cemetery. [10 Apr 1925, Newspaper: Goldendale Sentinel (WA), Goldendale, Klickitat, Washington, USA (Archives )] UPDATE Sep 2018: John and his brother and sister Joel and Mildred Florence lived for a while in Newton Co., AR with Isaac and Charlotte. Their sister Charlotte Rachel must have died as she was not in the 1860 census, unless she was living with someone else. A some point John Peyton, Joel, and Mildred Florence went to live with Samuel N. Flinn in Boone Co., AR and Samuel became their legal guardian. When Samuel died in 1877 they went to live in Carroll Co., AR with their uncle Joel Plumlee, Jr. and he became their legal guardian. Later Joel moved to Eastland Co., TX and was on the 1885/86 tax list. John Peyton must have gone with him because he was also on the 1885/86 tax list for Eastland Co., TX. John died when his daughter Comilla was very young. She knew nothing about him or his family. He and his wife Ida owned a house on three lots in the town of West, McLennan Co., TX and property in the town of Memphis, Hall Co., TX. Ida died sometime shortly after John Peyton. Nobody knows how they died or where they are buried. After Ida died, her brother Thomas S. Young filed for guardianship of Comilla and Granville Boyd.
