Burns, 59, a former Sheffield resident, died suddenly at her home in Rockwell Sunday morning, Feb. 21, from a heart attack. She had been under the care of a physician for high blood pressure in recent years but otherwise her health had been good. The family residend in Rockwell the past 16 years. Burns, 59, a former Sheffield resident, died suddenly at her home in Rockwell Sunday morning, Feb. 21, from a heart attack. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Rockwell at 2:00pm on Wednesday, Feb 24, with Rev. Adrian Schoenmaker officiating. Mrs. Max Bokmeyer, the vocalist, was accompanied by Mrs. Karl Behrends, organist. Burial was made in Hillside Cemetery at Sheffield. Pallbearers were Roy Hills, Earl Tubbs, Russel Reimers, Donald Logan, Earl Losee and John Cahill of Rockwell. Mrs. Dell Vosburg and Mrs. Edward Abbas cared for the flowers. The Wartnaby-Grarup Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Following final rites refreshments were served in the Masonic temple at Sheffield by the W.S.C.S. of the Rockwell Methodist Church. Florence Titus was born on Oct. 29, 1900, at Dougherty, a daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Titus. She grew into womanhood in that community and in 1918 was married to Arlo Earl Burns at Dougherty. Ten children were born to this union. The family resided at Sheffield, Chapin and Hansell until 16 years ago when they moved to Rockwell which has since been their home. Mrs. Burns was a member of the Methodist Church and the W.S.C.S. of Rockwell. Surviving are her husband, Arlo Earl of Rockwell; two sons, Dale of San Diego, Calif., and Orin Lee at home; four daughters, Mrs. Don (Earla) Carrott of Blue Hill, Nebr., Mrs. Richard (Lois) Lyman of Mason City, Mrs. Richard (Gaynelle) Endriss of Iowa Falls, and Mrs. Robert (Bonnie) Olson of Rockwell; one brother William Titus of Sheffield; three sisters, Mrs. Nick (Iva)Cunningham Sr., Mrs. Carl (Hazel) Eckhardt and Mrs. Lee (Maude) Jones of Sheffield; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; four daughters, two in infancy, Margaret in 1937, and Mrs. John (Letha) Homicj of Woodbridge, N.J. on Nov. 30, 1959. John Homick Jr. of Woodbridge, N.J., arrived by plane Sunday evening to attend the funeral services for his mother in law.
