Florence Anna Reinholdt was born February 1, 1921, on the family farm near Remsen, Iowa, to August and Anne (Miller) Reinholdt. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Remsen. She attended country school in Henry Township, rural Plymouth County, and graduated in 1938 from Kingsley High School, Kingsley, Iowa. On September 24, 1939, Florence was united in marriage to Ruben E. Heimgartner at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Kingsley area for many years before retiring in 1979. Ruben passed away January 14, 2002 and she moved from the Kingsley family farm to Le Mars in November 2003. Florence was a member of First Lutheran Church for 63 years. At First Lutheran, Florence taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and participated in Ladies Aid and Altar Guild. She also enjoyed spending her time in her garden and flower beds. Florence also spent many hours quilting, tracing her family genealogy, and sharing family history. When she moved to Le Mars, she became a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she became active with LWML and Circle and helped with mission quilting projects, Helping Hands, and hobby club. She also volunteered with the Floyd Valley Auxiliary. She will be lovingly remembered by her three sons: Wayne Heimgartner and his wife Judy of Quimby, IA, Kenneth Heimgartner and his wife Marsha of Spencer, IA, and Daryl Heimgartner and his wife Sharon of Lake Sherwood, MO; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Rumohr of Rogers, AR; a brother, Walter (Violet) Reinholdt of Lawton, IA; and sisters-in-law, Esther (Orval) Eikenhorst of Le Mars, Maycele Heimgartner of Le Mars, and Lillian Heimgartner of Vandalia, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben on January 14, 2002; her parents, August and Anne (Miller) Reinholdt; brothers, Harry Reinholdt, Elmer (Thelma) Reinholdt, and Clarence (Delores) Reinholdt; and brothers-in-law, Milton Rumohr, Albrik (Elsie) Heimgartner, Elroy Heimgartner, Robert Heimgartner, and Duane (Lorna) Heimgartner.
