Description	:	MADRID, Iowa – Florence V. Naber, 96, a former resident of Muscatine, died Friday, August 6, 2010, at the Madrid Nursing Home. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at the Zion Lutheran Church with a funeral luncheon immediately following the service. Reverend Don Sondrol will officiate the service. Honorary bearers will be John Hintz and Arnie Schultz. Casket bearers will be Gary Doran, Brad Estrem, Phil Schliesman, and Jim Johnson. Naber, 96, a former resident of Muscatine, died Friday, August 6, 2010, at the Madrid Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Zion Lutheran Church in Florence's honor. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements. Florence was born on December 25, 1913, in Deep River, the daughter of W. D. and Mary Ursula Rank Behrens. She was one of eleven children. She was a graduate of Deep River High School, class of 1928. She married Henry ‘Red' Naber on August 22, 1941, in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1991. She worked at Barton's Shop for 34 years as a salesperson. She was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church for 61 years. Those left to honor her memory include a daughter, Janice S. Hintz and husband, Phillip, of Clive; two grandchildren, Shelly Johnson and husband, Jim, of Waukee, and John Hintz and wife, Danni, of Clarksville, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren, Morgan and Gable Johnson and Kylie and Kendall Hintz; a special niece, Mary Lou Doran and husband, Gene, of Wilton, and their family, Lori Estrem and husband, Brad, and their children, Erin and Devin, Gary Doran and wife, Karen, and their children, Matthew and Jennifer, and Gina Schliesman and husband, Phil, and their children, Caden and Crew; two sisters, Minnie Maas and Margaret Bohstedt, both of Williamsburg; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, George, Walter, Carl and Henry Behrens; and four sisters, Esther Schultz, Mabel Wichman, Marie Behrens, and Ella Kieper.
