Description	:	Wenatchee World - October 21, 1996 Cashmere Florence W. (Jackson) Helvey, 82, a 17-year resident of Cashmere, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 1996, at the Cashmere Convalescent Center. She was born on Sept. 27, 1914, to Don and Ressie (Smith) McConnell in North Loup, Neb. When she was 2 years old on June 22, 1916, she and her family left Nebraska in a covered wagon and headed for Wyoming. The family homesteaded in Lingle, Wyo., for a few years. She was born on Sept. 27, 1914, to Don and Ressie (Smith) McConnell in North Loup, Neb. When she was 2 years old on June 22, 1916, she and her family left Nebraska in a covered wagon and headed for Wyoming. The family homesteaded in Lingle, Wyo., for a few years. The family then moved to Ronan, Mont., where she finished her education. Soon after completing her education, she married Pete Mowatt, and the couple traveled to many places together. Later she met and married Lonzie Jackson. They settled in the Wenatchee area for 27 years. After Lonzie's death, Florence met and married Myron Helvey on May 12, 1979, in Cashmere. They moved to Cashmere and remained together until Myron's death. Florence was a hard worker and worked at many places throughout her life. She sorted apples for a time, worked in a bakery and was a waitress for many years. She was a member of the Eagles and the Chelan County Benevolent Society. She is survived by her dear friend, Dorothy Schmidt of Cashmere, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lonzie, her husband, Myron, three brothers and three sisters. Arrangements are by Braun Funeral Home, Cashmere.
