Letourneau, 87, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at Oak Grove Nursing Care Facility, where he had received wonderful care for the past three years. He was born in Waterville, Nov. 8, 1918, a son of Jules and Josephine (Lubier) Letourneau. Educated in Waterville schools, Florent served in the Army as a parachute rigger from June of 1942 until November of 1945. Letourneau WATERVILLE -- Florent L. Letourneau, 87, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at Oak Grove Nursing Care Facility, where he had received wonderful care for the past three years. He was born in Waterville, Nov. 8, 1918, a son of Jules and Josephine (Lubier) Letourneau. Educated in Waterville schools, Florent served in the Army as a parachute rigger from June of 1942 until November of 1945. He worked with his father and later for himself as a carpet installer for many years. He enjoyed baseball and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. He also enjoyed playing cards with his brothers and sisters and cooking for his family. He had a great love for his grandchildren. He was a member of Notre Dame Parish and was on the board of directors at the Notre Dame Credit Union for many years. Florent was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Annette (Bouchard) Letourneau; and 13 brothers and sisters, Lucille, Felix, Viola, Raymond, Adrien, Rudolph, Amedee, Jules Jr., Reginald, Hector, Martin, Constance, and his twin brother, Gerard. Surviving are a son, Brian Letourneau of Auburn; a daughter, Colette and her husband, Michael Bouchard, of Waterville; a brother, Donald Letourneau of Swansea, Mass.; two sisters, Grace Letourneau of Winslow and Alice Taylor of Virginia; a sister-in-law, Jane Letourneau of Winslow; three grandsons, Paul Bouchard of Fairfield, Michael Bouchard of Waterville and Spencer Letourneau of Auburn; a granddaughter, Hannah Bouchard of Waterville; as well as several nieces and nephews. At Florent's request, there will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 3, at Notre Dame Catholic Church, Waterville. Burial will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Waterville. Arrangements are under the direction of Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville.
