He received his schooling in Shelby, IA and moved to the Crofton community with his parents at the age of 13. He was united in marriage with Vera West on May 23, 1919 at Hartington, NE. To this union five children were born. He farmed in the Bloomfield and Crofton communities until the time of his death. He is survived by his widow, Vera, four sons, Dale, Lowell, and Kenneth, of Bloomfield and Avon of Crofton; one daughter, June, Mrs. Raymond Petersen, of LaMars, IA; six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
