Description	:	Florine E. Brandt, 63, of Rt. 3 Waverly, died Sunday morning, Nov 29 at the Waverly Municipal Hospital where she had been a patient for one month. Florine E. Segebarth was born on March 23, 1924, in Readlyn, IA, the daughter of Henry and Emma Pries Segebarth. She was baptized on April 13, 1924, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Klinger, and was confirmed in the same church on May 16, 1937. Read More	Florine E. Brandt, 63, of Rt. 3 Waverly, died Sunday morning, Nov 29 at the Waverly Municipal Hospital where she had been a patient for one month. Florine E. Segebarth was born on March 23, 1924, in Readlyn, IA, the daughter of Henry and Emma Pries Segebarth. She was baptized on April 13, 1924, in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Klinger, and was confirmed in the same church on May 16, 1937. Florine was brought up in Klinger where her father was a butter-maker, and she attended parochial school there. In 1940, the family moved to Waterloo where Florine attended East High School. On April 19, 1942, Florine was united in marriage to Harold A. Brandt at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly. The couple settled on the Brandt home farm five miles east of Waverly. In October, 1985, Florine underwent surgery for a malignant tumor in her lung, and in April 1987, more cancer cells were discovered in her spine. During her illness, Florine appreciated the Hospice Room at the Waverly Municipal Hospital, and also the care that she received. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly, was active in the Nazareth Circle, and she was also a member of the Denver American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Harold; her children and their spouses, Joyce and August Pagel of Sumner, Kenneth and Carol Brandt of Pekin IL, Curtis and Darlene Brandt of Waverly; eight grandchildren, Julie Pagel Schick, Brian Pagel, Connie Pagel, Rodney Pagel, Durk Brandt, Sara Brandt, Daniel Brandt, Katie Brandt; three great-grandsons, Christopher Pagel, Darin Pagel, Jacob Schick; and her two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Juhl of Oelwein, and Mrs. Lawrence (Mildred) Kresser of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 2, 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly with Pastor Evon Flesberg officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Waverly. The Brandt family suggests that memorials be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly.
