Description	:	Florine M. Baus Feb. 20, 1917 - Mar. 31, 2008 Our beloved mother has gone to be with the Lord. She died peacefully on March 31, 2008 in the presence of all her loving children. Flo was born in Sequim, WA; and was orphaned at the age of seven with her sister, Jean and her brothers, Ernie, Jim and Art. She and her sister spent seven years at Sacred Heart Orphange after which, at age 14 and with no other living relatives except her siblings, Flo became the caregiver. She died peacefully on March 31, 2008 in the presence of all her loving children. Flo was born in Sequim, WA; and was orphaned at the age of seven with her sister, Jean and her brothers, Ernie, Jim and Art. She and her sister spent seven years at Sacred Heart Orphange after which, at age 14 and with no other living relatives except her siblings, Flo became the caregiver. She graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1934. Flo contracted tuberculosis and spent one and a half years in Firlands Sanitarium. In 1941 Flo married Joe Baus and together they owned a turkey farm in Kent, WA until 1957 when they sold the farm and move to Edmonds, WA. Joe was co-owner of Sky Nursery and then became owners of Edmonds Garden Center and Hi-Point Garden Center. Flo was a stay-at-home mom who raised and nurtured their five children. She was active in church activities at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Edmonds. She enjoyed gardening, dance club, flower arranging, camping, babysitting her grandchildren, and any activity which involved family. Flo was preceded in death by her husband, Joe in 1997; and her granddaughters, Julie and Sandy. She is survived by her children, Ernie (Terry), Don (Kris), Bonnie (Tom), Dave (Shelley), Mary (Jay); 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her brother, Art; and her sister, Jean. Her faith and unconditional love touched not only her family but all who knew her. There were no strangers in her life. A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Beck's Funeral Home, 405 Fifth Ave. S, Edmonds 425-771-1234. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, April 4, 2008, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 630 – 7th Ave. N, Edmonds; with Burial following at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline. Memorials may be given in her name to the Holy Rosary Building Fund or to the Edmonds Food Bank.
