A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late William Francis and Katie Cloer Bowers. She was preceded in death by her daughter, June Pulliam. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, L.M. Matt Bridges; son, Leonard R. Bridges and wife, Betty, of Bryson City; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Walter Bowers of Bryson City; and sister, Amanda Barker of Salisbury. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m....
