Description	:	MUSCATINE, Iowa - Flossie B. Girls, 97, a long time resident of Muscatine, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at Lutheran Homes. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Leif Pohl of Grace Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Homes. Mrs. Girls was born on April 2, 1906, in Illinois City, Illinois, the daughter of Otto and Mary Vetter Ziegler. She married Clifton L. Girls on January 2, 1929, in Rock Island, Illinois. Flossie was a faithful member of the Grace Lutheran Church and was a very hard working woman and loved to take care of the ones she loved. She also enjoyed taking care of her home and garden. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, JoAnn Girls; three grandchildren; Jeffery Girls and his wife, Lynn, Tamara Smith and her husband, Jeffrey, and Scot Girls and his wife, Dawn; five great-grandchildren, Stephanie Girls, Sydney Smith, Spencer Smith, Alyson Girls and Sarah Girls; and several nieces and a nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Dale Girls, two brothers, George and Henry Ziegler and one sister, Fredia Spickler.
