Description	:	Wife of Dean Russell Rogers. Flossie was born in Bourbon County, KS the daughter of William S. and Minnie M. Mason. Her siblings were Elton E. and Lenna L. Brown-Winters. Her Mother died June 24, 1898 and her father remarried to Olive A. Perry Rhoton whose husband had died and left her with 2 children: Nettie M. and William Eli Rhoton who were Flossie's step-siblings. Flossie was born in Bourbon County, KS the daughter of William S. and Minnie M. Mason. Her siblings were Elton E. and Lenna L. Brown-Winters. The Bronson Pilot (Bronson, Kansas), August 18, 1922, page 2 Flossie Belle Brown was born near Uniontown, Kansas Oct. 14, 1896. Her father and mother both having preceded her to the Great Beyond, her mother passing away when she was only 20 months old and her father when she was 12 years old. She was converted at the age of 14 years at South Fairview, was baptized and united with the M. E. Church at the same place, where she has always retained her membership. She was married to Dean Rogers on November 9, 1914. To them were born two children, a little son, Wilbur Russell, who preceded her in death when only nine days old, and one daughter, Mavis. She was so lady-like in her actions, with such a quiet, lovely, sympathetic disposition that all who knew her loved her. She talked with her husband a few days before her death about having to leave little Mavis but said "If it is God's will, I am ready--I am not afraid to go." Flossie bore her sickness patiently and uncomplainingly. She was taken to Idaho on Dec. 19, 1920 in the hope that she would regain her health, but she continued to fail and passed away August 7, 1922 at the age of 25 years, 9 months and 24 days, near Gooding, Idaho. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, little Mavis, aged 5 years; one sister, Mrs. Lenna Winters of Bucklin, Ks., one brother, Elton Brown; two half sisters, Nellie and Ruth; two half brothers, Roy and Otis; one step brother, Eli Rhoton; one grandmother, Mrs. Mary Mason; one niece and one nephew, Romola and Russell Winters; three aunts, Mrs. Eliza Turner, Mrs. Maggie Pool and Mrs. Pauline Anderson; one uncle, David Mason, and a host of cousins and friends. "Loving friends, weep not for me; I long to be at rest. How happy, happy I shall be, When pillowed on my Savior's breast! Oh, the hope, the hope is sweet, That soon in heaven we may meet; There we all shall happy be; Rest from pain and sorrow free." Funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. Brown Sunday afternoon, conducted by her former pastor, the Rev. J. H. Oliver, now of Topeka, who spoke words of comfort to the bereaved ones. Interment was made in the Hatch cemetery. The esteem in which Mrs. Rogers was held was shown by the very large crowd present at the funeral and also by the lovely floral offerings by relatives and friends both here and at Gooding.
