Mrs. Tong died at 10:06 a.m. Saturday at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green. She was born Aug. 27, 1915 in Wood County to Vern and Rosa (Hartman) Smith, later Pils. She married Clare Bergman on Sept. 10, 1935, and he died March 6, 1965. She then married Golden M. Tong on Sept. 28, 1967, and he died May 22, 1990. Surviving are a daughter, Betty Jane Bergman, McComb. A brother, Kenneth Smith, preceded her in death. Mrs. Tong was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, McComb, and the McComb and Hancock County Senior Citizens. Memorials may be made either to the church or McComb Public Library.
