Mrs. Poteat was a member of the Baptist church and, for a number of years, taught the Mother's class af the Mt. Olive church. She is survived by her husband, S.E. Poteat, route 1, Cowpens; two daughters, Mrs. Roie Peahuff and Miss Edith Potet, route 1; three sons, Henry Poteat, Drayton, Louis and Perry Poteat, both of Cowpens, route 1; two sisters, Mrs. S.A. Hannon, Gramling, and Mrs. Smith Crow, of Drayton; and five brothers, Robert Belcher, Albert Belcher and G.A. Belcher, all of this city, K.B. Belcher, Gaffney, and Clyde Belcher of Candler, N.C.; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
