Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Surviving are his children, Floyd (Margie) Martin, Jr. of Neosha, MO, George (Janet) Martin of Tulsa, OK, Phyllis (Don) Gehrig of Henderson, NV, Ted (Linda) Martin of Hiawatha, Sid Martin of Tulsa, OK and Ralph (Pam) Martin of Carman, IL; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter; and sisters, Naomi McClure of Skiatook, OK and Fay Berry of Owasso, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, his wife and a granddaughter. Floyd Clifford Martin was born May 1, 1919 in Delaware, OK the son of George W. and Maude V. (Buffington) Martin. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during WWII. He married Grace Dennis in 1942, they were later divorced. In 1964 he moved to Hiawatha and became a pipefitter for the Local 125 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. He retired in 1981. He married Vina Blin on January 11, 1966; she preceded him in death in 1998. Floyd enjoyed caring for his vegetable gardens, flowers gardens especially his roses and meticulously caring for his lawn. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, college football and late night cooking.
