Born August 10, 1916, to Thore and Olive (Gunderson) Thompson at the home farm near Wadena. Married Lavanda Bergan December 28, 1951. He spent his ninety plus years playing and working on that same farm. He was a Charter Member of the Elgin Lutheran Church and had deep roots in the social, political, and religious fabric of this small community in Northeast Iowa.
