Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden with Rev. Todd Bunge officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden. Visitation will begin at noon Friday, with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. followed by visitation with the family until 7:30 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden. Floyd "Hank" Green was born May 7, 1917 in Union County, South Dakota, the son of Morris "Alvin" and Anna (Voverka) Green. He married Agnes Westergard October 7, 1935. She died November 23, 1978. He later married Janet O'Connell October 3, 1986 at Elk Point, South Dakota. Hank farmed in the Ireton, Iowa area and did carpentry work. He was a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden. He was a charter member and helped establish the Hawarden Saddle Club. Hank raised and loved horses. He is survived by his wife, Janet; 5 step children, Phil and Chris O'Connell of Foreston, Minnesota. Christi and Mike Gant of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Bob and Jackie O'Connell of Beresford, South Dakota, Carol and Steve Sommervold of Alcester, South Dakota and Dennis and Jennifer O'Connell of Beresford; a brother Glenn Green of California; 5 step grandsons and 1 step great-grandson. Hank was preceded in death by an infant son, his first wife, Agnes; and brothers and sisters, Opal, Vivian, Lyle, Rosalyn, Andrew, Beulah and Kenneth.
