Read More	Obituary - Floyd Realph The Hooper Sentinel December 7, 1944 News Notes of Swaburg Region Rites Held for Pvt. Floyd Realph Funeral services for Pvt. Floyd E. Realph, whose death occurred in a plane crash at Bryan, Texas, Nov. 24, were held at The Elim Lutheran church in Swaburg Friday afternoon, with Wollmer & Warne in charge. Dr. George D. McClelland of Fremont, a former army chaplain, was the officiating pastor. Mrs. Le Roy Buck of Uehling and Miss Luella Sampson, former teachers of the deceased, sang the requested hymn, "In the Garden" and "The Christian's Good Night." Mrs. Frank Vondrasek of Uehling was at the organ. Military honors by the Cornelius Tillman post of the American Legion of Hooper were carried out at the grave, with a firing squad firing a final salute to the dead soldier and Taps sounded by W. E. Sanders. Legion members served as pallbearers. Burial was in the family lot in Elim cemetery. Coming from a distance for the final rites were; Cpl. Marvin Stauffer of Bryan Field; Pvt. Norman Realph of Santa Barbara, Calif.; Wm. Realph, Bryan Realph, Messrs. and Mesdames Lynn and Zella Bullock of Denver; Messrs. and Mesdames John Realph and son, Dale, Rogan Bullock and Sherman Woodruff of Julesburg, Co.; Mrs. Julia Slack of Grand Island; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Newman and Mr. and Mrs. Otis Wilson of Mason City; Harvey, Herbert and Miss Mabel Realph, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Realph, Mrs. Carmen Realph, Mrs. Edna Smith and Mrs. Carl Kammerer of Fremont; the Carl Meyer and Elmer Larson families and Mrs. Herman Popken of Scribner; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Leifert of Oakland, and Mr. and Mrs. Claus Freberg of Lyons. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Obituary - Pvt. Floyd Realph Details Learned of Crash in Which Pvt. Realph Died Details were learned here Wednesday of the crash in which Pvt. Floyd Realph, formerly of Uehling and Swaburg, died Friday. Pvt. Realph, an instrument trainer instructor, was on an instrument training mission from Bryan army air field in Texas with six other instructors. Their two-engined plane crashed during a rainstorm near Trinity, Tex., and six of the soldiers were killed while one parachuted to safety. Funeral services for Pvt. Realph will be held from Elim Lutheran church at Swaburg, Friday at 2 p.m., and interment will be in the Elim cemetery. Dr. George D. McClelland, Fremont, will officiate and military services will be conducted by Cornelius Tillman post, American Legion. Wollmer and Warne funeral home is in charge. Floyd Earl Realph was born in Swaburg Nov. 14, 1906, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Realph. He attended the Swaburg school and was graduated from Uehling high school in 1930. Since 1931, he had made his home in Denver, Colo., and in Oakland, Calif. He was a civilian flier. In 1942 Pvt. Realph was inducted into the army air corps. He had been stationed at the Lincoln air base, Hammer Field, Fresno, Calif., Mosts Lake Wash., and then at Bryan field.
