Description	:	Floyd Edwin Hill was born on March 8, 1914 in the Pleasant Hill area of Lake View. He was the second son of William and Adele Gathman Hill. He graduated from the Early Consolidated Schools in 1932. Floyd was united in marriage to Francis "Tat" DeGarmo on June 23, 1935 and had lived in Early even since. He was employed at the Early Post Office until 1955, was an accountant at Hygrade, sold Ford automobiles for seven years and was then employed at Payless Cashway, Inc. until retiring in 1984. He graduated from the Early Consolidated Schools in 1932. Floyd was united in marriage to Francis "Tat" DeGarmo on June 23, 1935 and had lived in Early even since. He was employed at the Early Post Office until 1955, was an accountant at Hygrade, sold Ford automobiles for seven years and was then employed at Payless Cashway, Inc. until retiring in 1984. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he served as Elder and Trustee. He was a past member of the Early Fire Department and St. Elmo Masonic Lodge. Floyd was an avid Johnny Cash fan, followed the Chicago Cubs and Bulls games and made wonderful popcorn balls. He also enjoyed gardening, Scrabble, drawing, calligraphy and coin collecting. His dry sense of humor and wit will be missed by many relatives and friends. A memorial has been established at the First Presbyterian Church, Early. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tat, on Dec. 24, 1969; two sons, infant Billie Jay in 1937 and John Eldon in 1984; brothers Howard Hill of Coeur D'Alede, ID and Verlin Hill of Waverly; and sisters Pearl Hill of Lake View and Vera Hill of Sac City.
