In the 1930 Census for Wapello County, Iowa, Floyd was living with his parents in Ottumwa, and his middle name was transcribed in ancestry.com as Elias in that census record. However, when I clicked on the actual record and looked at it, his middle name had been rewritten over, and it did actually look like Elise. I do not see Floyd's middle name in any of the other records in ancestry.com, and due to my findings, I believe it is correct to leave his middle name as Elise. --------------------------------- Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” April 22, 1977: Floyd E. Eaves, 62, of 413 S. Ward, died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Ottumwa Hospital. He had been an employ of Lowenberg Bakery from 1937 until his retirement in 1976. He was born Dec. 8, 1914, in Ottumwa, to Charles and Lola McDaniel Eaves and was a lifetime resident of Ottumwa. He was a Navy World War II veteran and a member of the American Legion and the Bakers anad Confectionary Union Local 412. He married Helen Sells in June 1947 [sic], at Lancaster, Mo. She survives. Also surviving is a son, Robert, Auburn, Calif., and a step-daughter, Beverly Bigham, Ottumwa; three grandsons; and a brother, Paul, Ottumwa. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Johnson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. William Montgomery of the First Pentecostal Assembly of God officiating.
