Description	:	Floyd Stemple Killed Thursday of last week Floyd Stemple, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Stemple of Cantril, was instantly killed while working in the timber near Bentonsport. No one saw how the accident happened. Read More	Floyd Stemple Killed Thursday of last week Floyd Stemple, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Stemple of Cantril, was instantly killed while working in the timber near Bentonsport. No one saw how the accident happened. He was working on the Clinton Randolph farm and was trimming the limbs of a tree that had been cut down and it is thought a large limb he had chopped off struck him. Mr. Randolph and a young man helping him went out to where he was to bring in a load of wood and found his body under the limb and a deep gash on the back of the head. Life was extinct. He was a soldier in the late war and saw service over the sea. Following is an obituary sent us for publication: Floyd Halette Stemple was born near Cantril, Iowa, Feb. 26, 1890, and with the exception of about three years had always made Van Buren county his home. He spent about three years in Kansas and two in the service of his country, about 8 months of which was in France. He was united in marriage to Miss Bernice O'Roark, Aug. 27, 1916. He was called by death Feb. 26, 1920, his age being just 30 years. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Stemple, of Cantril; two sisters, Mrs. Willah Steinberg and Miss Phyllis, both of Cantril; two brothers, Dale V. of Williamsfield, Ill., and Howard of Atlas, Ill., also a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 27, and burial in the Bentonsport cemetery.
