Description	:	Floyd H. Weed, 89, Woodbine, died Apr. 20 at Rose Vista Care center, Woodbine. Floyd was born June 21, 1919 in rural Magnolia to Frank and Anna (Akers) Weed. He had three brothers, Elmer, Pete, and Howard; and one sister, Ruth Scott. He attended Magnolia School, and worked as a farmhand in Minnesota and Iowa before joining the U.S. Marine Corps in 1941. Floyd was born June 21, 1919 in rural Magnolia to Frank and Anna (Akers) Weed. He had three brothers, Elmer, Pete, and Howard; and one sister, Ruth Scott. He attended Magnolia School, and worked as a farmhand in Minnesota and Iowa before joining the U.S. Marine Corps in 1941. Floyd served his country in the South Pacific during WWII. He saw a lot of action during his four years in service. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Floyd returned home and married Margaret Vore, and to this union a son, Jimmy, was born. He later married Eileen Harris Barnett, and to this union, a daughter, Sheila, was born. Floyd owned a trucking business, hauling grain, livestock, shelling corn, and later, rock. His son Jimmy is also a truck driver. Floyd enjoyed going south to Texas in the wintertime. He liked reading Western books, dancing, and listening to country music. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; sister; wife, Eileen; and an infant daughter. Survivors include: his son, Jimmy and his wife, Daria, Council Bluffs; one granddaughter, Jeannie Hughes of Hawaii; nieces, Peggy Obrecht, Missouri Valley; Nina Walter, Magnolia; Jean Sublet, Council Bluffs; nephews, Dick Scott, Detroit, Mich.; and Darrell Weed, Norfolk, Neb.; a great niece, nephews, and many friends. Funeral Services were held Apr. 23 at the Logan Memorial Chapel, Pastor Connie O. McWilliams, officiant. Honorary Bearers were: Ralph Ellsworth, Wayne Jones, and Charles Lamberson. Casket Bearers were: Gail Earleywine, Carl Michaels, Bill Sublet, Gail Lamberson, Paul Rhoten, and Darrell Weed. Interment was in the Magnolia Cemetery.
